Apparently this week is my week to try a few new bloggy events.

Yesterday, I joined Meredith’s Manic Mondays for the first time.  It was a great way to discover some new parenting blogs.

share-your-worldAnd today? Cee’s Photography’s weekly Share Your World link up had a few questions that grabbed my attention, so I thought I’d give it a go.

She posts four questions each week.  You answer.  Then hop around a bit visiting others doing the same.  That’s my evening plan at any rate.

Sound good?

Okay!  We’re off!

If you had to describe your day as a traffic sign, what would it be?

No_StoppingNow this was the one that drew me in!  I immediately knew the answer.  NO STOPPING ANY TIME.  Every time I pass one of these recently I feel it’s posted just for me.  A reminder to keep going, going, GOING!

Because a body in motion tends to stay in motion and all that rot.  And if I stop?  I’m not entirely sure I’d have the motivation to get moving again.

I’m in the last of three very busy weeks at work where it’s been non-stop; lunch at desk; overtime as norm; chaotic.

Taking today as an example – because that’s the question – I was up before 5:00 because I couldn’t sleep.  On the upside this gave me a good hour and a half of work time at the computer before I had to shower and actually get ready to go into the office.  And that jump-start on the day’s activities made it possible to get everything done that needed doing before rushing out the door at 4:50 under the vain hope that I’d make daycare pick-up by 5:30.

I pulled in at 5:28.  Oooh yeah!

With my husband on late shift, I then fed the kids, packed them up and took them swimming for an hour (which I’d been promising and putting off for about a week).

Got home around 8:30, as my husband was arriving home from work.  We split the bedtime routine, me putting our almost 2-year-old to bed; him taking our 4-year-old.

Which brings us to … about now.

NO STOPPING ANY TIME sums it up nicely.  I AM Our Lady of Perpetual Motion.

Is your hair short (total neck and ear showing), medium (covering ears and neck), long (below shoulders), extra long (at least halfway down your back) or bald?

It’s just about at the shoulders long.  And that’s basically how it has been for the last 20 years.  Same colour (now with a bit of help from a bottle); same part; same natural curl.  I envy those with the courage to change their style, cut and colour frequently.  Me?  I’m a creature of habit.  On the upside, it makes me pretty easily recognizable to people who haven’t seen me in years.

When you are with your friends, do your interactions include much touching—for example, hugging, kissing, rough housing, rubbing backs? Would you like to have more of this? (Note: the answers may vary depending on where you live on this wonderful planet.)

I’m not a big hugger/random back massaging kind of person.  I like me my personal space.  My husband and his family are French Canadian while my family is of British descent.  It’s an interesting adjustment at times.

What do you feel is the most enjoyable way to spend $100?

I’m torn between a bottle of cognac – a nice VSOP Courvoisier – or dinner out with the family at our favourite restaurant: an all you can eat Sushi place near our house.  I suppose it comes down to whether I’m in a selfish or giving mood when the $100 arrives 🙂

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

This stuff is absolute heaven!

This stuff is absolute heaven!

This was the other question I most wanted to answer.  I know it’s posted every week, but I usually do a Ten Things of Thankful weekend post where I reflect on the good things that happen in my week and with the chaos of life I missed last week.  So I was happy for the excuse to post a thankful here!

I am grateful that I got the chance to go to the Originals Ottawa Spring Craft show last week.  I love craft shows and this one was only in town for four days.  I’m happy I had a nice evening out with a girlfriend crafting; followed by meeting up with another friend for drinks afterwards.

And I’d happy that I found my mother-in-law a beautiful bracelet for her birthday; that I found my husband some great sausages as part of his birthday present; a gift for an upcoming baby shower; and most importantly …  that I stocked up on Coconut Butter from Manitoulin Island because my girls LOVE it on toast.

As for what I’m looking forward to in the week coming up?  I’m looking forward to this week ending and life quieting down again for a little while.
