So, ever since I put up a Facebook page for my blog, my dad (and 32 other AWESOME people – consider joining them now to avoid the rush) have been following my page.

Overall, I think his following enriches family life.

I mean, I’m past the age of sneaking in past curfew and being vague about boys (not that I would have ever blogged about that, dad).

He flags certain posts he deems noteworthy to my mother.

And then they’ll then comment and share their feelings at Sunday dinner.

Really, who needs a phone?

Yesterday? It was days of the week music, brought on by something I’d posted on Facebook earlier last week.

Where he landed?

Okay then.

Blythe – my little musical dolly co-host here on Baby Gates Down has been feeling a bit bored of late, so sure.

Let’s see if we can make this happen.

And before I start, I just have to say anything with “days of the week” just makes me think of this scene from 1989’s When Harry Met Sally:

Seriously, my kids have days the week socks, and every time I put them on – especially Sunday socks (which are clearly just fine) – this scene pops into my mind.

I share it here in full, both for context, and well – because “Hi Dad!”

SALLY: (explaining the reason why she and her former boyfriend broke-up)Well, if you must know, it was because he was very jealous, and I had these days of the week underpants.

HARRY: (makes the sound of a game show buzzer) Ehhhh! I’m sorry. I need the judge’s ruling on this. “Days of the weeks underpants”?

SALLY: Yes. They had the days of the week on them, and I thought they were sort of funny. And then one day Sheldon says to me, “You never wear Sunday.” It was all suspicious. Where was Sunday? Where had I left Sunday? And I told him…and he didn’t believe me.

HARRY: What?

SALLY: They don’t make Sunday.

HARRY:  Why not?

SALLY: Because of God.

According to Wikipedia, John Phillips wrote this #1 Billboard hit in about 20 minutes. For those keeping count (like my parents) that beats how long it took me to blog about it by, well, quite a bit. But most of that was spent finding the Meg Ryan/Billy Crystal underwear reference, so, well, them apples.
